Assistant Professor Dr. Sanya Kenaphoom, Director of the Doctor Ken Academic Promotion and Development Institute and Editor of three national and international academic journals—Journal of Education and Learning Reviews (JELR), Interdisciplinary Academic and Research Journal, and International Journal of Sociologies and Anthropologies Science Reviews (IJSASR)—participated in the “TCI Editor Training Program A1: Practitioner Level, Class 1,” organized by the Thai-Journal Citation Index (TCI) Centre on 27–28 May 2026 at Surasak Rooms 1–3, 11th Floor, Eastin Grand Hotel Sathorn, Bangkok.

The training program brought together 288 participants, including editors-in-chief, editorial board members, managing editors, and journal personnel from academic journals indexed in the TCI database across Thailand. The primary objective of the program was to strengthen editorial competencies, enhance journal management skills, and promote best practices in scholarly publishing in accordance with national and international standards.

The program commenced with welcoming remarks by Professor Dr. Narongrit Sombatsompop, Head of the TCI Centre, followed by an introduction to the training program and a pre-test conducted by Dr. Nongyao Sripromsuk, Assistant to the Head of the TCI Centre.

Throughout the two-day training, participants gained comprehensive knowledge in editorial management, journal development, publication ethics, and digital tools that support editorial workflows. Associate Professor Teerasak Markpin, Researcher at the TCI Centre, delivered sessions on editorial concepts, journal components, policy development, and journal website management. These sessions emphasized the importance of establishing clear editorial policies and developing journal websites that meet international publishing standards.

Professor Dr. Narongrit Sombatsompop also presented on the roles and responsibilities of Editors-in-Chief, highlighting strategic journal management, editorial governance, journal scope definition, editorial board composition, and publication planning. His presentations provided practical guidance on how academic journals can maintain quality, transparency, and sustainability.

In addition, Associate Professor Ekachai Wimolmala and Dr. Sirichai Kanking, researchers from the TCI Centre, conducted sessions on ethical policies for journals indexed in the TCI database. Through real-world case studies, participants explored best practices in publication ethics and learned how to develop ethical frameworks that align with international scholarly publishing requirements.

On the second day, Professor Dr. Narongrit Sombatsompop led a session on journal management case studies, focusing on strategies for addressing unexpected situations and challenges encountered in editorial operations.

A special keynote session was delivered by Associate Professor Dr. Supakorn Phoocharoensil, Editor-in-Chief of LEARN Journal: Language Education and Acquisition Research Network, Thammasat University. Drawing on his experience in managing a Scopus-indexed journal, he shared practical insights and successful strategies for improving journal quality and achieving international recognition.

The training concluded with a workshop on editorial support technologies presented by researchers from the National Electronics and Computer Technology Center (NECTEC), including Dr. Krich Nasingkun and Dr. Santipong Thaiprayoon. Participants were introduced to a range of editorial tools such as ThaiJO, Reviewer Finder, CopyCatch, Turnitin, and iThenticate, as well as emerging AI detection technologies designed to support manuscript screening and publication quality assurance.

Participation in this training reflects Assistant Professor Dr. Sanya Kenaphoom’s ongoing commitment to enhancing the quality and international standing of the academic journals under his editorial leadership. The knowledge and practical experience gained from the program will contribute significantly to strengthening the editorial management, publication ethics, and scholarly impact of Journal of Education and Learning Reviews (JELR), Interdisciplinary Academic and Research Journal, and International Journal of Sociologies and Anthropologies Science Reviews (IJSASR).
