On 27–28 May 2026, Assistant Professor Dr. Sanya Kenaphoom, Lecturer in the Public Administration Program at Rajabhat Maha Sarakham University and Director of the DR.KEN Institute of Academic Development and Promotion, participated in the “TCI Editor Training Program A1: Practitioner Level, Class 1.”
Organized by the Thai-Journal Citation Index Centre (TCI), the training was held in the Surasak 1–3 Rooms on the 11th floor of the Eastin Grand Hotel Sathorn Bangkok.
The program was designed to develop the knowledge and professional skills required to manage Thai academic journals. It promoted the effective use of editorial tools, increased awareness of publication ethics, and provided opportunities for participants to exchange knowledge and experience with TCI specialists and experienced journal editors.
The training covered journal components and policies, the roles of editors-in-chief and editorial boards, the formulation of journal aims and scope, peer-review processes, journal website development, and the ethical standards applicable to Thai academic journals indexed in the TCI database.
Participants also explored journal management case studies, including managing large volumes of manuscripts, recruiting reviewers, maintaining consistent article quality, handling complaints, and addressing the appropriate use of artificial intelligence in manuscript preparation and peer review. The program also presented approaches to developing journals toward inclusion in the Scopus database.
The training further developed participants’ skills in using digital editorial tools, including ThaiJO, TCI Reviewer Finder, CopyCatch, Turnitin, and iThenticate. These tools support manuscript management, reviewer identification, and responsible plagiarism and similarity checking.
Participation in the program strengthened Assistant Professor Dr. Sanya’s knowledge and experience in academic journal management according to TCI standards. The knowledge gained can be applied to enhance research quality, academic publishing, and academic services while supporting researchers, scholars, and academic networks in meeting national and international publication standards.
